Canada’s primary polar knowledge agency

● Point of contact with the Canadian and international polar scientific community

● Works with Canadian and international institutions to determine scientific and other priorities

● Encourages and facilitates cooperation and collaboration in the advancement of polar knowledge

● Provides advice to the Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development

● Works with the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) to help inspire and guide a new generation of polar researchers

● Supports Sustaining Arctic Observing Networks (SAON)
